2012 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Alte Reben Spätlese
S.A Prüm is a family-owned wine estate nestled on the banks of Germany’s serene Mosel River, at the heart of the country’s celebrated Mosel growing region. Here, the Prüm family has cultivated vines for over 200 years. The estate has been in the hands of Raimund Prüm, owner and winemaker, since 1971 when he assumed full management. Under his leadership, the property has become one of the region’s most successful wineries, boasting an international reputation for the production of exquisite Rieslings.
This estate-bottled, single-vineyard Riesling is produced from grapes grown in the famed Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard which has recently been designated an Erste Lage – or top vineyard site by the VDP. The steep, south slopes are one of the top vineyards of the Mosel region. Devon slate and the light soil create a special and unique flavour in the wines with high minerals and lean style.
Color: Medium Gold
Bouquet: Stone fruit and citrus notes with a touch of petrol.
Taste: A dry, full bodied, and precise example of Grand Cru Riesling with concentrated flavours of stone fruit, honeyed and mineral notes.
Grapes grow on deep, 80 to 120 year old original rootstocks, and always produce the most expressive wine characteristics since they extract high minerality from the slate soils. After careful selection, grapes are hand-harvested and are fermented in stainless steel for two months, followed by one year of ageing in 50 to 60 year old oak.

It is a perfect match for spicy cuisine, fruits, aged cheeses and desserts with dairy, citrus or nuts. Perfect to enjoy as an aperitif or with seafood. This is a special wine that can be enjoyed with complex and flavourful dishes.
2012 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese Grosse Lage
Ripe fruit, peaches and apricot, solid, clean and good balance with the notes characteristic of a perfect Riesling. Taste: Great structure with a little lime and citrus. Prominent mineral notes from the gray slate and outstanding vineyard site.
Perfect to enjoy as an aperitif or in combination with blue cheeses, or creamy cheeses like fresh goat cheese. An excellent match for terrines, pate, and Asian cuisine. A wine for a special event always with a big presentation effect.
2012 Essence Riesling
Grapes are hand harvested in mid-October and undergo a gentle crush. The juice is fermented for four weeks in stainless steel tanks then bottled under Stelvin closure to preserve its fresh, youthful character.
Enjoy on its own or with a range of light appetizers and seafood dishes, perfect with Asian cuisine and all styles of spicy food. The ideal summer wine.
2010 Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Auslese Fass 40
This estate-bottled, single vineyard Riesling is produced from grapes grown in the famed Ürziger Würzgarten vineyard in Germany’s Mosel-Saar-Ruwer region. At vintage 2006 the winery S. A. Prüm presents for the first time a wine of this vineyard. The Würzgarten has a unique soil of red slate and “Rotliegendes” a red soil of volcanic origin. The wines of this vineyard have an exotic and herbal tasting with a special deepness. The side has around 56ha with mostly extremely steep vineyards of old ungrafted origin.
Lovely in combination with light desserts or on its own.
2006 Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Auslese Fass 10
Carefully selected fully-ripened, botrytis-touched grapes were hand-harvested on October 14, 2005. Following a period of maceration on the skins and five weeks of fermentation, the wine was aged for 7 months in stainless steel. The wine was then bottled under natural cork .
